Cookies with dipping butter, Asian-inspired pastries, Filipino ube treats, matcha desserts and warm crumble.

Classic pecan cookie with caramel cream and sea salt held outside Le Laboratoire SIX 7

My sweet stops in Amsterdam cover more than one pastry style. This collection brings together chewy cookies, Asian-inspired cakes, Italian baking, Filipino ube pastries and tea-based desserts. Choose by what you are craving, with the full review a click away when you want the rest of the order.

Amsterdam · Cookies and homemade milk drinks

Le Laboratoire SIX 7

The classic cookie came with caramel cream, pecans, sea salt and melted butter for dipping. We also tried a blueberry lemon cookie and blueberry rosemary milk. The caramelized exterior and chewy center made the cookies a different sweet stop from the cakes and pastries elsewhere in this guide.

Amsterdam · Asian-inspired pastries and matcha

Meili Bakery

My Meili order included a black sesame and soy milk crème brûlée puff, a soft matcha strawberry cake and matcha cranberry cookies. Matcha Vienna went alongside the pastries. There were savory beef sandwiches too, so the full review is useful if you want to turn the bakery stop into lunch.

Amsterdam · Italian baking in Oud-West

Fermento Bakery

At Fermento in Oud-West, I tried cornetto crema and panettone made over three days with their sourdough starter, Gigetto. The sweets continued with dark-chocolate-filled baci di Alassio, krumiri corn flour cookies, hazelnut meringues and hazelnut cake. It is the Italian baking direction in this collection.

Amsterdam · Filipino ube pastries and more

Manila Bakery Masters

At Manila Bakery Masters, I tried soft ube pandesal and buttery ube ensaymada topped with cheese. Chewy coconut sapin-sapin, adobo and flan croissants and an ube cookie made the order broad. This is the Filipino bakery stop in the guide, with both sweet and savory bites.

Amsterdam · Matcha crème brûlée and crêpes

Miyabi Matcha

Miyabi is the tea-and-dessert stop on Zeedijk. My order included matcha banana crème brûlée and a delicate crêpe with creamy matcha filling, alongside hojicha Earl Grey vanilla foam. It fits when the sweet craving comes with a matcha or roasted-tea drink.

Amsterdam · Warm crumble and cinnamon ice cream

Madaq

Madaq’s Winter Crumble combined warm Dutch stewed pears, crunchy speculaas biscuits and cinnamon ice cream. It was a warm-fruit-and-ice-cream direction rather than another pastry counter. This was a seasonal order from my visit, so check what is being served now before going for that exact dessert.
