Japanese food in Amsterdam covers more than one kind of night out. This collection brings together places from my own coverage, grouped by what I tried: ramen bowls, sushi and handrolls. Use the dish notes to choose a starting point. This is an unranked collection, not a claim that these are the only Japanese restaurants worth visiting.
Listed for browsing, not in order of preference. Menus and availability can change.
Amsterdam · Ramen
Taka Ramen
My bowl here was the Taka tan tan ramen. The restaurant is on the top floor of Toko Dun Yong, so the arrival is part of the story too. Look for the elevator when heading upstairs.
Amsterdam · Hakata ramen
Ramen-Ya
Ramen-Ya appears in my Amsterdam coverage with Hakata ramen. It is a separate ramen stop to compare with the tan tan bowls elsewhere in this collection, depending on the style of bowl you want.
Amsterdam · Chilled ramen
Tsumugi
The dish I covered at Tsumugi was chilled tan tan ramen made with soy milk. That gives this entry a specific place in the collection: a chilled bowl rather than another hot ramen stop.
Amsterdam · Sushi
Sushieye2
My Sushieye2 coverage included crispy rolls and king shrimp nigiri. It is the sushi-focused entry to explore if you are choosing between rolls, nigiri and the ramen or handroll options in this guide.
Amsterdam · Handrolls
Ikkoku
I focused on the temaki at Ikkoku, looking at the fillings, nori and how the handrolls held together. Read the individual article for that closer look and my practical feedback from the visit.
Amsterdam · Japanese-influenced dining
House of Noa
My House of Noa coverage included A4 wagyu and otoro temaki, black cod miso, duck pancakes and lobster. This is a broader menu than the ramen stops, with Japanese dishes appearing as part of a wider spread.
